Osmar Olvera, the Mexican diver who stood out at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has received good news recently. After a year and a half without a scholarship, CONADE has finally reinstated his monthly stipend of 50,000 Mexican pesos. This comes in addition to the two medals he won in Paris and provides him with a boost to prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

The athlete confirmed to the media that Ana Gabriela Guevara, who was in charge of CONADE, was the one who managed the reinstatement of his scholarship in September. Moreover, with the arrival of Rommel Pacheco, he hopes that the issue of his financial support is secured. Juan Celaya, his partner in synchronized diving, has also received a scholarship of 39,000 pesos, allowing them to focus on their training.

Olvera plans to return to training in November at the National Center for Sports Talent Development and High Performance (CNAR), alongside his coach Ma Jin. He aims to increase the difficulty of his dives in preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle, with the clear goal of competing on equal terms with Chinese divers.

The diver is determined to perfect his jumps so he can execute them flawlessly in upcoming competitions.
